Welcome
Seeking therapy isn’t easy. It takes courage to ask for support, and I hold this with great care. You may feel isolated or uncertain about who you are and where you belong. At times, your cultural background may feel at odds with the dominant culture. Other times, anxiety, grief, or sadness may take hold. Relationships — within your family or community — can feel complicated and heavy. Whatever brings you here, I welcome you exactly as you are and hold your experience with compassion and regard. Together, we can gently explore the layers of your experience and how the intersection of your identities has shaped you.
Who I work with
I am a first-generation, South Asian (Indian American) therapist providing counseling in-person in Austin and via telehealth throughout Texas. As the daughter of immigrants, I understand the weight of cultural stress — the tension between honoring your family’s values and finding your own way in the world. You may notice yourself shifting across different parts of your life, constantly adapting to fit in, and feeling the fatigue that comes with it. Early experiences or relationships may have left you feeling a little off balance, easily stirred, or not quite at home in yourself. In our work together, we’ll bring gentle attention and curiosity to your experience, creating space for more ease, clarity, and self-understanding.
I work with individuals and couples, from all walks of life, at any stage of adulthood who want to understand how their experiences have shaped them and to explore identity, belonging, and connection. Whether you’re feeling weighed down by anxiety, grief, or exhaustion, or you’re overwhelmed by relationships in your life, I’ll support you in being and becoming more authentically yourself.
How do I work with clients
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 20 years practicing and teaching yoga and meditation, which deepened my belief in the connection between body, mind, and heart — and the power of presence.
I recognize that our bodies hold information and wisdom that words alone cannot capture. I work from a culturally responsive, trauma-informed lens, integrating Somatic Experiencing®, parts work, and attachment-based approaches to support you in a way that feels safe and accessible. As we explore what matters most in session, we may slow down to notice the sensations and cues your body offers. Over time, this process allows your full story to be known, insight to emerge, and vitality to return. Trauma — whether complex or single-event — can lock us into patterns that were once necessary. Working gently in therapy, by listening to our stories, emotions, and bodies, can help us release what’s been held and make room for greater ease and aliveness.
What is my style
You have a story and a lived experience. And above all, I want to hear and understand what that has been like for you.
I work from a person-centered lens, holding your experience with dignity and care. You will have the opportunity to inform how therapy will most benefit you. Sometimes that means you need me to offer more direction, and other times you’ll have a sense of where we need to go.
My style is warm, relational, and collaborative. I value the relationship between us as a meaningful part of healing – a place where we can experience shared trust and connection. Through that connection, we can build capacity to open to both the life that has been and the one that’s awaiting you.
I believe that where there is pain, there is also the potential for healing and growth. I hold those places with tenderness, and trust that there will be a time when clarity, resilience, and hope also come into view.
Who am I outside of therapy
Outside of my work, I’m a lifelong learner, a mother to two daughters I adore, and someone who enjoys the outdoors — running along Lady Bird Lake, hiking a favorite trail, or sharing conversation with a friend over a good cup of coffee.
If this resonates with you, I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you find more steadiness within yourself, feel less alone in what you’re carrying, and reconnect with the strengths and dignity that have always been yours.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation call so that we can see if we’re a good fit for each other.
